About Zambia
It has
been estimated that there is more than 1,000,000 orphans in
Zambia alone. The number is expected to grow to over
2,000,000 in 15 years. Most of these children are left to
take care of the younger children and thus making it hard
for them to go to school. The situation will only grow worse
if nothing is done about this growing problem. These
children need to be given a second chance. We need to give
them hope. This can only be accomplished when we give them
an education.
We ask you
to pray about the situation in Africa that God will
intervene and help Africa fight the AIDS epidemic. "Without
a vision, people will perish."
We are
building a community center for children in Chainda, Lusaka,
Zambia. The center will also have night classes for young
adults. The center will provide the following
programs:
1. Counseling
for the AIDS victims
2. Basic
education for under privileged children
3. Education
in child care and child development for women
4. Basic
technical training
5. Education
in personal hygiene
The
center will allow children that are orphans and homeless to
find shelter and an education. The money that we raise for
the Make A Difference project goes to the project funds. We
have been able to raise some money towards this project. We
have about six functional classrooms and are in the process
of building and remodeling the old building.
